"L'Été culturel" is reaching out to the French people. This event, conceived in 2020 by the ministry to encourage everyone to participate in the cultural life of their regions, continues to deliver on the promise that made it a hit with a wide audience: a cultural summer everywhere, for everyone—with a new twist this year: the event is expanding to campgrounds.

"Summer at the Campground" is a new initiative to promote local cultural and artistic activities. The choice of campgrounds is no coincidence. These destinations top the list of vacation accommodations in terms of bookings. According to the National Federation of Outdoor Accommodations, which represents 4,300 establishments nationwide, campgrounds remain the main driver of summer tourism. In 2024, more than 141 million overnight stays were recorded.

With the support of the DRAC, the “Allez vers” project selected Le Marina Plage to serve as the venue for Balkis Moutashar’s enchanting show on July 15. “Allez vers, led by the Théâtre du Gymnase Bernardines in Marseille, is organized each year to bring theater to communities across the region,” emphasizes Maud Orain, head of the Les Théâtres project.  “Depending on the circumstances, we go to cafés, village squares, but also on trams, in nursing homes, and schools—all to help ensure the transmission of culture.”

A cabaret comes to life, conceived by Balkis Moutashar; with just a few props and the appearance of various objects, the illusion is perfect for reviving the dream of the great cabarets. On the restaurant’s stage, the entire world of music hall came to life. Feathers, sequins, and three colorful characters transported the vacationers for one evening into the classic atmosphere of the genre. Balkis Moutashar has extensive experience in various types of dance, from classical ballet to various traditional dances.
