A cabaret night at a campground is a festive, unique, and community-building event that appeals to a wide audience. It offers a refreshing change from traditional activities—such as karaoke, bingo, dance parties, and “Miss and Mister Campground” pageants—by adding a touch of originality. Judging by the number of photos taken on cell phones and the selfies the performers agreed to take at the end of their show, the evening was a resounding success—a delightful mix of music, dance, and acrobatics.
The management of Marina Plage had asked the Marseille-based troupe, the Phénix Company, to take August vacationers on a journey without leaving Vitrolles, and the spellbinding show—worthy of Paris’s Moulin Rouge—was a success. With Ivan handling the technical aspects, the four passionate performers—whose primary mission is to bring glitz and glamour—managed to create a magical experience.
From Paris to Dakar via China
"We've been around for over 10 years now," Aurélie explains, "and of course we perform mainly in the region, but also wherever we're invited—and we even make trips to Paris from time to time. “Tonight, with Cécile, Margot, and Camille, we’re going to take the audience on a journey around the world.” Barely enough time to change into their costumes—each one more magnificent and colorful than the last, beautifully representing the countries they’ll visit—and the audience boards a plane bound for a new destination amid thunderous applause.
Margot surprised the audience during the show with an acrobatic act featuring balance poles. From Paris to New York, via China, Dakar, and the Caribbean—to name just a few stops—the young women came down several times to dance among the restaurant tables. The journey came to an end at the Rio Carnival in Brazil, set to the rhythm of a samba.
The audience loved the choreography and the elegance of the costumes—another unforgettable evening thanks to the campground’s entertainment team, one that will remain in Rémi’s memory: “ “I’m from Liège, Belgium, and I enjoyed the show and the beautiful women—that’s always a pleasure,” and his friend Andrew added: “The dance festival took us on a journey and made for a very pleasant evening. They’re mesmerizing in their costumes.”
